Woke up at 6.30am to prepare and get ready for our day at the Melbourne Zoo! Left house at 8.15am and reached the zoo at 10am. The zoo is pretty empty and cold in the morning. Actually for the entire day, its is quite cold. The highest temperature is only 22 degrees celcius.
The first animal that we saw in the zoo is the Peccary! It looks like the cousin of pigs. So cute! Then we saw some monkeys, Kangaroo and Wallaby. The Kangaroos, Wallaby and Emus are walking freely around us, we can touch them and take photos with them if we wanted too~ Then we walked to the habitat of Wombats! They are so cute!! They look like an upsize version of a hamster hehe!
First time seeing Koalas and Kangaroo! The Koalas are so cute! So fluffy and fat! Then saw a couple of Giraffes and Zebras. The Giraffe in Melbourne are so much bigger than the one i saw in Singapore Zoo! Next up is the Meerkats! They are so small and curious. They stand up and look around like some curious kid! Then saw some huge ass giant tortoise! A very small platypus swimming pretty fast so cant take photo of it.
Then we walked into a part of the zoo with reptiles and frogs. The Snakes, water dragon, tortoise, turtles, snakes and frogs are some reptiles that we cant find in Singapore. Then we entered the Butterfly garden which is very warm and the butterfly fly freely inside and may land on any part of your body if they want to.
An interesting part is that when we are walking into the area for big cats, we heard some really really loud roars and thought that it was the loud speaker thats producing the noise but as we walked closer to the lion den, we realized that there are two male lions roaring towards the audience. They maybe marking their territory as there was a huge crowd of people standing in front of the fence. Couldnt take a good photo of the lions as there were way too many people and the fence is kinda blocking it. Then, there is the snow leopard sleeping on the rock.
Caught part of the fur seal daily show and it is so cute and obedient! Even saw the fur seal giving some people who paid extra money kisses on the cheek! The little penguins are so small and cute! Then saw the Sumatran tiger and watched the show where people pay extra money to get a chance to put the tiger's dinner all around the tiger habitat and allow the tiger to find them by itself. Took some pretty good photos of the Pelicans.
Saw a couple Lemurs in its home. They look kinda like Meerkats just bigger and have different features and tails. Then we saw Gorillas, Monkeys, Baboons and Orang Utan which are very common in the Singapore Zoo. Then walked towards the home of Hippotamus! They are so bulky and slow omg! The elephants we saw are so hairy and big! Asian elephants haha! Saw some tree kangaroos too! And last but not least, saw coatis!
