Its another zoo day today! But this time round, instead of Melbourne Zoo, we went to Werribee Open Range Zoo which is at the other end of Melbourne. Travelling time of 2 hours there and 2 hours back. Left house at 9am but reached there around 12.30pm. Some delay cause we missed the bus to the zoo from Werribee station and ended waiting for another 50 minutes for the next bus to arrive. Wanted to eat in the zoo but the food in the Meerkat Bistro is just too damn expensive. So we decided to walk to the Hippo Beach Cafe but it didn't open today T_T
Due to it being an Open Range Zoo, the animals there are mostly critically endangered and there are not much animals there to see. Werribee Zoo breeds the critically endangered animals such as antelopes and put them back in the wild so that they wont be critically endangered anymore. Which also means that the animals there are not easy to be seen or spotted by us due to them having a very large piece of homeland.
Saw Cheetah, African wild dog, gorilla, Ostrich, lions and etc but most of them are sleeping! The weather is just like the theme, Africa. It is just so warm! 32 degrees celcius! Took the Safari Tour at the safari station which lasted for 40 minutes to see animals up close in their habitat.
Finally on our way back home. Ate red rooster which is a fast food restaurant at Southern Cross station. They say roast chicken which is so good! And i spotted mini melts from the sugar station and bought it even though its quite pricey~ Too many flavors to choose from (choc mint, cookie dough, Cookie ad cream, fairy floss, bubble gum and frozen yogurt). But i still ended up choosing my typical first choice which is the fairy floss.
Since we reached home pretty early and got time to spare, me and Terrence baked a batch of 50 white chocolate chip cookies~ It is so good and taste exactly like the white chip macadamia cookie that subway sells.
